School Admission Documents Checklist: Everything Parents Need Before Applying

School admissions can feel overwhelming, especially when parents are unsure about which documents are mandatory and which are optional. Preparing the paperwork in advance can save time, reduce stress and prevent last-minute rejection or delays.

While exact requirements vary by school, most institutions ask for a common set of documents to verify the child’s age, identity, residence, academic history and parent details.

Basic documents most schools ask for:

The most commonly required documents include the child’s birth certificate, recent passport-size photographs, address proof, parent ID proof and previous academic records if the child is applying beyond entry level.

A medical certificate may also be requested in some schools, especially during nursery or primary admission.
