AKSHAR

AKSHAR is a heterogeneous blend with a homogenous aim of excellence through care. Its philosophy of exploration of the best in each child results in a magical masterpiece of a school that imparts values and learning lessons for life.

In the year 1998, we dared to dream, with courage and confidence, of opening an Inclusive ISC School to provide a common platform for children with varying abilities to grow together. Akshar opened its doors with 70 students. It is an “Inclusive” High School, and we pride ourselves on being the pioneers in this field in the city of Kolkata. We have been able to create a School where children with “Additional Needs” study alongside with “Regular” children contributing to each other's development.

Our School is a non-profit organization, run by the Rajpal Khullar Memorial Trust. Late Professor Yaspal, a doyen and visionary amongst scientists and academicians of our country, recipient of the Padma Bhushan Award, and also a National Research Professor, had been the Chief Patron of AKSHAR. He had been distinguished with India’s second highest civilian honor Padma Vibhushan. Dr.Sudha Kaul, the founder of the Indian Institute of Cerebral Palsy, is one of the eminent educationists on our School Executive Committee.

Under one roof, AKSHAR houses ICSE, ISC, NIOS, OBE, ASDAN (a Life Skill Training Unit) and Further Education (FE).
ICSE    As of March 2023, 18 batches of children have appeared with cent percent success.
ISC    In March 2023, our of 6th batch of Class XII students had appeared for ISC examination with complete success.
NIOS (Secondary & Senior Secondary): Up to March 2023, 18 Batches of children have completed Class X, and 3 Batches of children Class XII, conducted by the National Institute of Open School.
ASDAN(U.K)    (School Leaving Certificate for students with Additional Needs)
LIFE SKILL TRAINING Printing, Cooking and Silk Screen Printing, alongwith other Life Skill Training Programs are provided in a Separate Skill Training Unit.
