ASTVS District CM School of Excellence, Ranchi, a prestigious institution with a heritage was established in 1839. Located in the heart of Ranchi, Jharkhand’s capital, our school, formerly known as Ranchi Zila School, was renamed in 2003 as Amar Shahid Thakur Vishwanath Shahdev Zila Vidyalaya to honor the freedom fighter Shahid Thakur Vishwanath Shahdev.

As a government upper primary and senior secondary school for boys, we are recognized by Jharkhand's School Education and Literacy Department. In 2023, we earned the "School of Excellence" title from the Government of Jharkhand and gained CBSE affiliation, having previously been affiliated with the Jharkhand Academic Council.

We offer higher secondary education in Arts, Commerce, Science, and Vocational streams. Our 12-acre campus includes a historic building, two playgrounds, an assembly ground, gardens, and a well-maintained hostel. We feature modern classrooms, well-equipped science labs, an ICT lab, a Language Lab, an Atal Tinkering Lab, a comprehensive library and multipurpose auditoriums, all designed to foster holistic development.
