About Us

Burdwan Model School is the dream come reality of Oriental Association for Education and Research Society. The members of the society, comprising of renowned industrialists, entrepreneurs, philanthropists, academicians, physicians and management experts etc. have envisioned a comprehensive skill based school with residential and day-boarding facilities. Inspired by Rabindranath Tagore’s precious counsels on education, the society conceived an institution where a child enter a Nursery / KG level and gets the ample scope to complete education till Post Graduate level under one roof with the fullest satisfaction. The members of the society felt the need to revisit our teaching methodology to suit the imminent globalization of our society. This led to the foundation of Burdwan Model School (BMS), which is nestled considerably far away from the din and bustle of the city life. The guiding life of BMS is its motto “Tamso Ma Jyotirgomaya”. The children of BMS are encouraged to explore, reach out and seek answers for themselves. The school aims in the character building of a child within a life which is a homogeneous blend between the richness of the Indian tradition and heritage culture and the effective perks of westernization.
