CALCUTTA BOY'S SCHOOL

The origin of Calcutta Boys School is closely linked with the establishment of the Methodist Episcopal Church in india. Bishop J.M.Toburn founded the Calcutta Boy's School in 1877. the school was first located on the rear verandah of the Thoburn Church Parsonage then located on Dharmatalla street opposite the Thoburn Church. The school finally acquired its own building on S.N. Bannerjee road in 1893 thanks largely to the generosity of a man who could be called the Chief Patron of the school Sir Robert Laidflaw. The Calcutta Boys Scool has extended beyond its mother campus disseminate the light of education in Sonarpur, Beliaghata and Asansol as well.the new schools were established at Sonarpur in 2008 , Beliaghata in 2010 and Asansol in 2015. The Calcutta Boy's School together with its branches in distinctively a christian minority Anglo Indian Institution and every is exerted in the formation of christian character and development of true citizens of India.
