CENTRAL MODEL SCHOOL (H.S)

Late Kuldeep Harbans Kaur founded Central Model School in the Baisakhi of 1955 for the education advancement of minorities and economically weaker section of society A few decades later Sardar Jodh Singh himself took the initiative to uplift the school to its present higher glories. ‘Education for all’’ became his mission in life.

The school, begin in a rented building, faced a lot of legal hurdles, but under the dynamic leadership and guidance of S.Taranjit Singh has overcome all obstacles and bloomed into an indispensable institution of repute and value. Presently Central Model School H.S. is running in its new premises, just opposite the Bangladesh High Commission in Beckbagan,  Kokata. The school is run under Guru Nanak Educational Trust of the JIS Group.

The vision of Late S Jodh Singh to make high quality education reach all section of society has inspired his son S. Taranjit Singh so much that he leave no stone unturned to fulfil his mission. The alumni of Central Model School HS who are well established across a wide plethora of professions are the best example

Two eminent Kolkattan educationists and philanthropists of the 1950s, Mrs Kuldeep Harbans Kaur and Dr Hiralal Chopra shared the vision of educating the masses amidst a plethora of expensive school in Central Kolkata Thus was founded a charitable Trust, Guru Nanak Educational Trust , the chief objective of which was :’Quality English Medium Education for all’ The school, Central Model School, started the journey under the aegis of the Trust in a rented building at 220/2 AJC BOSE Rd. as a coeducational school.

In 1966 Central Model School got its affiliation from West Bengal Board of Secondary Education. Batch after batch passed through the portals of this institution. The Uniqueness of this school has always been the healthy, stress free environment for the students wherein young minds bloomed under the motivating watchful eyes of their dedicated teachers.

Meanwhile the reins of the Trust and the School were taken over by another visionary S. Jodh Singh Ji

Since 2006 the school became a Higher Secndary Now it is also running a Science Stream in the H.S Section.

The alumni of Central Model School H.S are well established a doctors, engineers, computer scientist, businessmen, and across a wide plethora of other professionals. What a starter of sa spark in 1955, today stands up as the steadfast torch lightening up careers, generation after generation!
