About Us

Chowringhee High School is a co-educational school recognized by the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (unaided) up to Class X.

Over the years, the school has progressed substantially and has ‘carved’ a name of its own within the city. The School is managed by the “Meera Singh Education Trust” (A Public Charitable Trust). The Trust is exempted from u/s 12A of the Income Tax Act as well as u/s 80G(V). Due to persistent efforts, the School has risen from anonymity to the limelight. The main aim is to provide a sound education regardless of caste, creed and religion for the all-around development of children at a minimal cost.

The aim of the School is to imbibe good moral values like honesty, punctuality and social services so that the students can become responsible citizens of tomorrow. Thus, the School plays a major role in the personality development of a child so that his/her potential is brought out. Our School believes in “the broader aim of education” for which it is rightly called “A SCHOOL WITH A BIG HEART”.

Our School also believes in the Motto: “Service before Self” so it inculcates a feeling of caring and sharing among students towards our society. ‘Social tasks’ have been taken up by our children who shoulder the responsibility of the Interact Club through which various activities are carried out. Our Social Service activities include cleanliness drives, free health programs for the poor, mass feeding for the poor on Saturdays, visit an adopted village to distribute stationery among the poor meritorious students, blanket distribution, participation in Road Safety Week by the Kolkata Police, organizing Sharad Utsav, Regular visits to the Nabanir & Lawrence D’Souza OLD AGE HOMES.
