As a quite humble and inconspicuous inception of our visionary Vice President and then regional Director Sri N. D. Grover, DAV Public school, CCL , Giridih was founded in 1988 in the silhouette of natural beauty of plants and hills to cater to the educational needs of the children of the CCO employees and bridge the yawning gaps f illiteracy & dispel the darkness of ignorance and superstition, and was inaugurated on 5th Feb, 1989 by the them State Minister for coal, Govt. of India, Mr. C. K. Jafar Shariff amidst a large congregation of public representative, high officials of coal India and district administration, DAV dignitaries and other benefactors and well wishers.

Though the school started functioning with only 228 students on roll, today its strength is more than 1500. The school was affiliated to CBSE, New Delhi up to X and CII in 1992 and 1997 respectively, and since then it has made a landmark in the field of education under the able guidance if Sri. N. D. Grover and Sri. L. R. Saini. This crusade against illiteracy and ignorance launched by Sri. N. D. Grover has been furthered successfully and given a new height by all our well wishers & stakeholders. it is making a new record of success every day imbibing a sense of devotion, dutifulness and honesty.

Today the school is lashed with all the modern amenities indispensable to nurture and expose the inherent qualities of the budding talents and the future architect of the nation with its seven blocks, four houses, and science and commerce streams at plus two (+2). Spread on a vast sprawling area at Jogitand with its Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Bio and Computer Labs, and a well-stocked library, the school provides ample opportunity to sprout the seeds of wisdom and update their knowledge...

 

Principal’s Message:

It is universally acknowledged that education is the most precious possession of an individual but it doesn’t mean that it is merely the acquirement of facts, rather it is to imbibe the values which help us improve various facets of mankind. I also vehemently agree with those who believe in the fact – The Perfecon, potentially present in every child but what is needed the most is an honest as well as a punctilious endeavour of both teachers and parents that would certainly help us to develop the multifarious qualities of a child.

At the very outset of my journey as a Principal of DAV Public School, CCL, Giridih, I hope that I would get all the positive supports of parents in all aspects and at the same me I assure that we would be able to reach the acme of academic excellence with good human values to save the personality of a child into a healthy mind, a worthy identity and a happy spirit who would st not only be equipped with 21 century skills for professional purpose but with foresightedness and farsightedness to face the challenges of life in a poised and harmonious way. Presently, the school is marching ahead making a harmony with the concept of NEP(2020) and in pursuit of excellence it has taken some significant steps such as : emphasis upon experience as well as experimental learning, multidisciplinary activities, digital literacy, written communication, problem solving and logical reasoning by maintaining a balance between Vedic virtues and modernity.

The school has reached many milestones in conveying the proper tutelage in the field of both academic and cocurricular activities and in maintaining a consistent growth in all the public examinations. Our QPI for Class XII (Science & Commerce) has always been outstanding and is on gradual progress which is the result of exploratory team research of our devoted teachers in academic field. Anywhere in India, we have the touch of DAV, CCL through innumerable alumni who are serving the society at large.

Hope, if the cooperation and commendation of the parents, benefactors and stakeholders continue to shower upon us with illuminating guidance, it is beyond doubt that the school with all its amenities will stand the test of me and no child will have to wander from pillar to post for quality education.
