DELHI PUBLIC SCHOOL (JOKA), SOUTH KOLKATA

 

Delhi Public School (Joka) South Kolkata was established in 2014 with a vision to impart an education that is truly holistic and value-based under the aegis of the Delhi Public School Society, New Delhi. It is located in the southern part of Kolkata near Thakurpukur, on Bakrahat Road, on almost 15 acres of land. The very location of the school, a little away from the hustle and bustle of city life, amidst lush green pastures, in a pollution-free zone, provides an environment conducive to its learners for their holistic development.

The best possible infrastructure provided by the school not only helps its students to develop in the field of scholastic subjects but also they get ample scope to explore their potential in various co-scholastic areas. Besides academics students are also encouraged to be trained in music (vocal & instrumental), dance (classical & contemporary), art & craft, table tennis, lawn tennis, cricket, basketball, football and swimming.

A combination of well–equipped laboratories, audiovisual classes and dynamic faculty members facilitate joyful and experiential learning. Regular counseling, yoga & meditation classes enable the students to cope with stress and emotions.

Trips & excursions, visiting to the museum and other places of interest, and participating in interschool events are of common occurrences during the academic year. Community service is an integral part of this school education. A fleet of 45-50 buses plies various routes all over the city for safe communication to school. Real-Time tracking of these GPS-enabled buses by the school authorities and parents ensures safe travel to and from the school. Specially trained lady attendants are also available in each of the school buses to ensure the safety and security of the students on their journey to school.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR CLASS XI

• For Science – Minimum 80% in aggregate and 85% in Science and Mathematics (preferably Standard Mathematics for CBSE students).
• For Commerce – Minimum 70% in aggregate and 75% in Mathematics.
• For Humanities – Minimum 65% in aggregate and 80% in English.
• Students with Standard Mathematics (for CBSE students) can only opt for Mathematics in Class XI.
• The above mentioned percentages of marks to be secured in the last examination appeared (Class X Board / Pre-Board / Selection / Half-Yearly / Mid-Term / Annual Examination of Class IX)
