The Academic Year is from April to March.
Forms will be distributed for Classes Lower Nursery to VIII
PRE-PRIMARY SECTION (Age Group - 3 to 4 years)
Nursery groups are trained with the sole objective to form good habits in their conduct and speech. Through nursery rhymes, games, stories and handwork they are taught to cooperate with their fellow pupils and habits of order and obedience are developed to complete the programme.
TRANSITIONAL CLASS (Age Group - 5+ years)
Children of this group are initiated in the three R’S. Being taught to read and write they are gradually led to comparatively longer words and advanced figure works, pasting of picture- (cutting labelling objects and parts of pictures). Games, merrymaking, dancing are few of the methods by which curiosity is incited at this stage.
PRIMARY SECTION (Age Group - 6+ years)
By introducing to a wider world of experience and a larger sphere of activities the Primary Section aims at preparing the child for the Secondary Section. While providing ample scope for initiative and enterprise and thus developing self -reliance, the plan lays adequate emphasis on formal studies and exercises, and gradually enables the child to acquire an alert mind with clear, precise and creative thinking habits. The curriculum includes- English (Literature and language), Bengali/ Hindi, Mathematics, General knowledge, Nature Study, Social Study, History, Geography, Physical Training, Yoga, Martial arts etc.
SECONDARY SECTION
The Secondary section prepares the students for the ISC examinations following the prescribed syllabus of the Council. The students of this section are provided with the use of well-equipped Science laboratories. From class V upwards the students are prepared in trilingual scheme and are required to select their 2nd and 3rd languages between Bengali and Hindi. The usual school programme includes exhibitions, fairs, picnics, excursion, story hours, dramatic performances, scouts and guides, elocution, art contests etc.
SUPERVISION AT HOME
The pupils are required to keep a diary (available from school against a nominal fee) for entering particulars of lessons and tasks for each day. In case of lower classes these entries are made by their teachers, if necessary. Parents are requested to examine the diary daily and to make sure that the instructions therein are properly followed. In case of queries or complaints the parents are requested to contact the office, not the teachers.
EXAMINATIONS
Students are examined thrice a year other than Weekly / Fortnightly tests. Principal’s decision regarding matters pertaining to examinations are final.
