PEARLY DEW HIGHER SECONDARY SCHOOL

Pearly Dew Higher Secondary School, Jaiaw Laitdom, Shillong, is a co-educational institution which was established by Mrs. Ibarilin Kharsati. It has come a long way since its inception in 1984 with only 43 nursery-level children under the care of 2 teachers and an ayah. Each year it has continued to grow till it reached the secondary level - and in 2003, the Meghalaya Board of Secondary Education granted recognition to the school. Through the school motto, 'To dare, Still to dare and Ever to dare'. , the school has always reminded the students to never doubt themselves and their abilities and to look in the face of adversity with quiet confidence and faith. Throughout its three decades of its existence, Pearly Dew School has strived to provide a wholesome education with a strong focus on developing the creativity of the students. It works to further their talents and abilities through various special facilities such as a music room, virtual classroom, performance hall, sports arena, computer laboratory etc. It also provides unique personality development sessions for higher classes. Making use of these opportunities and special resources, the students have made numerous achievements in various spheres from science and arts competitions to music, dance and sports. Pearly Dew offers its students an environment conducive to learning by means of a green campus and top notch boarding facilities for male outstation students. Academically, the students have made the school proud with their excellent performance in the Board Examinations securing a 100% pass result many times. The students are also given various opportunities to enrich the communities around the school as well as the indigenous culture, by means of environmental projects, staging musical plays and by participating in various cultural events around the city. Pearly Dew is also one of the few schools in Shillong that gives importance to the National Integration Program and observes an Annual National Integration Day to promote a positive outlook towards the various communities of our country. Our Vision The vision that Pearly Dew Higher Secondary School holds for its students is to develop each individual into a citizen of the world - One who is positive, forthright, open-minded, self-aware, with leadership qualities and high moral values, who will be a valuable asset to society. The school tries to fulfill this vision through a staff that works with an intense passion for the school and a deep affection for each and every one of its students.
