About Us

OUR FOUNDERS

Years ago, a vision was born in the heart of Behala. This was a vision of love, born in the faith of a simple and modest human being, the Late Narayan Shaw who believed that all children were of worth and that they deserved to have an access to education. To carry forward this legacy of their father the Late Narayan Shaw and in fond and loving memory of their mother, Late Parbati Devi, their children established this girl’s school named Shaw Public School in 2006.

PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

“The purpose of education is to replace an empty mind with an open one.”

Education aims at holistic and overall development of a child. The real challenge lies in choosing the method to actualize these goals and herein, Shaw Public School, has proven its mettle through a consistently successful implementation of a carefully researched and designed curriculum within a state-of-the-art infrastructure which ensures that each child reaps the best benefits that a school has to offer.

Shaw Public School is an all-girls' school affiliated to CISCE and has been honoured with the 3rd Rank as the Best School in South Kolkata by Times Excellence in Academic Awards, along with ABP Ananda Siksha Samman for the last two years in a row as a Centre for Excellence in Education for Girls in South Kolkata, to mention a few of our latest accolades.

We have consecutively produced 13 batches of ICSE and 11 batches of ISC candidates in the last 19 years with a school average between 85 percent and 89 percent and our students have been holding ranks at the state and the national level in CISCE examinations.

To facilitate this growth, we maintain smart classrooms equipped with latest digital technology of interactive panels, library, separate and well-furnished laboratories for subjects like Computer, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Home Science, Robotics and Artificial Intelligence and so on. Besides, the school provides space and training in sports like basketball, self-defence, table tennis, chess, Dance, Music, Arts etc to hone talents of individual children. Health, hygiene and child safety is our top priority for which, regular sanitization along with full time medical attendant and infirmary is maintained at all times. Every corner inside and outside the premises is constantly monitored through CCTV Surveillance and logistic supervision.

At Shaw Public School, we uphold the joy of learning through an activity-oriented curriculum purported to help the child connect what she learns at school with their practical utility in life. We are always up to date with the changing patterns and demands of the modern times and have a team of experts in individual subjects as our faculty with the best technical know-how that your child may rely on for academic prowess.

Discipline is the hallmark of our school. We believe not only in teaching but in motivating the youth to become the future leaders in whichever sphere of work they choose and to learn to share their success with humility and kindness.

We work hand in glove with the parents, orienting them in detail of their child's progress at every step of the way and thus ever-widening our horizons, transforming an educational institute into a greater family
